Inspired by Maccarrones de Busa and Casareccie but are neither. They are Maccarrones! They go well with all traditional Sardinian sauces and lend themselves to vegetarian innovations. Their long, thin shape makes them ideal for softer, creamier sauces.
This pasta is traditionally called 'Ferrittu' because it was worked with a knitting needle.
If you want to feel like a real Sardinian, you can prepare the recipe Maccarones de Busa a Sa Sarda: in a pan brown the pork meat with Vernaccia white wine and let it cook with some tomato sauce and saffron. In a pot of boiling water cook the Maccarones. Add the pasta to the sauce and dice the seasoned Pecorino Sardo. Everyone at the table because lunch is served!
The pasta is made with 100% Italian organic wheat and follows the traditional process, bronze drawn and left to dry slowly at a natural temperature.
