Maremma Toscana DOC “Anaini”

Anaini is a 100% expression of Pugnitello, a rare local grape from the Maremma. Anaini pays homage to the name of an Etruscan family from the area. It was this ancient civilisation that domesticated these wild grapes of the Maremma, an event that paved the way for the prestigious winemaking in the area.

The intense spicy character of Anaini represents the most authentic and refined expression of Pugnitello, an ancient native vine of the Grosseto area.

The wine is vinified in concrete, then spends 12 months in French oak barrels.

Tasting Notes

The Pugnitello is ruby red with garnet reflections. It has intense fruity aromas like plum and wild berries, with under notes of spices, undergrowth and herbs. In the mouth, it's full and structured, with well-rounded tannins, and a persistent finish.

Food Pairings

This unique wine pairs excellently with grilled meat or vegetables, as it has a rich character. If enoying a glass as an aperitivo, it pairs with a stronger flavour like smoked salumi and semi-aged cheeses.
