Piemonte Barbera DOC Organic

One of Piedmont's most famous grape varieties, Barbera is one of the key players of our region's wine tradition. In fact, it is the most planted red grape in the region. Due to it's excellent wines and long history, the region created the Piemonte Barbera DOC to ensure quality production

Barbera is rustic, artisanal and one of the most representative of Piedmontese wine history: the true symbol of our tradition.

It is said that the wine was called "Barbera" because of the well-known sour and astringent red cherry juice "vinum Berberis". Moreover, in the Middle Ages, the name Bàrberus had the meaning of "impetuous and aggressive", as Barberis was. Today it is the tannin that, untamed, overwhelmingly satisfies the taster's palate.

Lagobava produces a high-quality Organic Piemonte Barbera, with controlled fermentation using only indigenous yeasts, vinified in steel and left to rest for 6 months in the bottle. The colour is ruby red while the nose is fresh, fruity, very typical. On the palate, it is fresh, fragrant with good softness and good persistence.

It goes well with appetizers, light first courses, or simply being enjoyed at the family table.
