Each wine of the Tenuta Poggio Rosso ties back to a story of their Etruscan ancestors, and the tradition of winemaking in the region.

The legend for Poggio Rosso's Phylika is this: A fragment of a ceramic cup found in Populonia preserves a graffiti in which one can read Phylika- the name of a Greek slave. She placed in the cup flowers, fruits, and perfumes to offer to the divinity to whom she was devoted. Her name refers to Venus and to the sacred dedication that the slaves practiced in some Afroditic sanctuaries of the Mediterranean.

Poggio Rosso has dedicated to this figure its softest wine, a white wine rich in seductive scents, brilliant color, and an intriguing and enjoyable taste. It is 100% Vermentino that has spent 4 months in stainless steel and 1 extra month refining in the bottle before being released.

The refreshing character of Vermentino stays true to the territory, releasing aromas of citrus and peach, with a stone and mineral edge.

This wine is perfect to enjoy as an aperitivo, or with your favourite Tuscan cheeses drizzled with honey, when pairing with dinner, go with something light yet creamy like a white sauce pasta or creamy risotto.
