A complex and unusual Vernaccia, important and rich in character.
The name (first light) of the Vernaccia di San Gimignano Riserva di casa Cappella Sant'Andrea derives from the fact that the winery's historic vineyards are bathed in sunlight in the early hours of the morning. It comes from the winery's most historic vines of 1966, whose grapes are hand-picked in boxes in September.
Fermentation takes place spontaneously, in contact with the skins for about 1 month, in Tuscan terracotta amphorae to release the most intense flavours and aromas.
Maturation lasts two years: the first in terracotta and the second in steel. It's bottled without filtration and refined in the bottle for at least 6 months.
To the eye, it has a distinctive amber honey colour. Very articulate on the aromatic level: floral tones ranging through dried fruits to notes of wheat, wood and peat. The palate reveals a rich, dense structure with prominent tannins and a savoury, long and complex finish.
It pairs perfectly with blue or mature cheeses. Excellent with vegetarian or white meat dishes.
Why Do We Love It?
The only Vernaccia to be produced using organic methods, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, and to be aged in traditional Tuscan terracotta amphorae that enhance every nuance of flavour and aroma. It is considered an 'orange wine' for its being absolutely natural. It can age up to 12 years.

Our priority is to pack and ship the products safely. All the different types of cheese are vacuum sealed and we use dry ice and cool bags to keep the products fresh and their quality intact.
Wine and all bottles in general are shipped in inflatable bags, designed to protect them throughout their journey. Please note that all packaging can be easily reused.
